Decembrists’
relics
In summer 1993 the
Yalutorovsk museum was the first to accept Decembrists’ relics out of
the funds of the Sate Museum on History, of the Russian Fund on Culture,
and of private collections.
Through trouble times the
descendants of the Decembrists managed to preserve family relics.
Letters, autographs, documents, research papers, handicraft pieces,
portraits and pictures of Decembrists and their families were presented
at the exposition.
In 1993-1995 a program
‘Decembrists in Siberia’ was elaborated and got into implementation. It
embraces exhibitions, public meetings in Yalutorovsk, Tobolsk, Turinsk,
Ekaterinburg, and Kurgan with the descendants of the Decembrists, and
manifests a deep connection between generations and everlasting memory
about prominent countrymen.
