Church of Simeon Stolpnik

Temple of Simeon Stolpnik - one of remarkable monuments of Ustyug’s architecture of the middle of XVIII century - is situated on the bank of the river Sukhona in the bottom (second) part of Great Ustyug.

Church of Simeon Stolpnik – the only one in Ustyug with features of the West-European baroque. The interior of the temple of Birth of Saint Virgin, developed in 1757-1765, amazes with integrity of the baroque furniture, extraordinary riches of furnish.

In the beginning of XXI century church of Simeon Stolpnik - both an operating temple, and object of museum display.
