Arts Museum

Since the very beginning the collection of the museum has been constantly replenished by paintings, decorative and ornamental items. In 1896 paintings out of the Stroganov arts school, Stiglits school, and Academy of arts were given to the Tobolsk museum. A collection of chip popular prints collected in the Tobolsk region at the end of the XIXth century, and paintings of local artists are by right a focus of specific attention. Pictures by the outstanding Khanty artist Guennadi Raishev, and by some other unique artists are also kept in the collection.

The Tobolsk Arts Museum was opened in 2002, in the building of th former local history museum. At present exhibitions are regularly held in the Museum, among which are expositions of Tyumen artists, and mythological paintings by Turkic peoples.
