The Cathedral Belltower
For Trinity and Cross-erection cathedrals in 1713 a Belltower-belfry was constructed. The height of the Belltower is 60 meters. According to the inventory of 1875 on the cathedral belfry there were 12 bells. The biggest of them weighed 355 pods. The Belltower was reconstructed several times. In 1837 the chapter above the tower was replaced by a high spike.
In 1723 one of premises of
the Belltower became the place of figure school. At various times there
have been Church board, city council and court ,and also a residence of
Solikamsk bishop in the building of the Belltower. Now there is branch
of Solikamsk local lore museum "Museum of the nature" in cathedral
Belltower. |
